What is the difference between batik and tie-dye?
Date:2022-04-08        Hits:20        Back

Batik is like photography. Photography uses the principle of photochemistry. First, the negative film is subjected to a photochemical reaction. According to the intensity of light, the degree of reaction is different. Finally, the darker the image is formed, the more transparent the object is, and the whiter the image is Black, using the same method when developing film in the dark room, and then turning the image around, it is the black and white photo we see.

The principle of batik is relatively close. First, wax is attached to part of the fabric, and then it is put into the dye. The fabric that is not attached to the wax is dyed with the color of the dye, and the fabric that is attached to the wax is not, and still maintains the original fabric. Color, at the edge where the wax is attached, due to the penetration of the wax, the dyed color also forms the appearance of penetration, and the color has a transition effect from nothing to something.

The dyes of tie-dyeing and batik can be the same, but the method of tie-dyeing is more vivid. The fabric is not attached by wax, but a part of the fabric is wrapped by rope. The tied part is not put into the dye, and the other parts are the same. The color consistent with the dye is formed, and the banding part also forms a color transition due to the penetration of the liquid.
